The goal of this task is to become familiar with provisioning a recovery services vault. This includes provisioning a vault and then configuring a backup policy within the vault.

Task 1: Provision a recovery services vault

For this requirement you will provision a recovery services vault named task-vault. Provision the vault in the East US region. To complete this requirement follow the steps:

• Login to the Azure portal using your credentials.

• After login you can see a empty resource group. To create a resoruce click on +Create button.

• Search for Backup and site recovery.

• Click on create

• Vault Name: task-vault Region: East US. And click on Review+Create.

• Finally, click on Create.

• Once, deployment is successful click on Go to Resource.

Successfully we have completed our Task 1.

Task 2: Configure a recovery services vault for backups

For this requirement you will create a backup policy in the task-vault vault. Use the following settings:

• Navigate to Backup Policies. And click on +Add to crete policy.

• Choose policy type: Azure Virtual Machine.

• Policy sub type: Standard, Policy name: task, Backup Schedule: Choose 1AM and your time zone.

• Weeks: 52, Monthly: 60, Yearly: 10. Finally, click on Create button.

• Click on Go to Resource.

• Go to Backup policies you can see the newly created policy task.

Successfully we have completed all our 2 tasks.

Cleanup

Once you have completed this task, you can delete resources.
