Figure 2 shows an NS record matching www dot cisco dot com to an IP address Figure 3 shows the client sending the DNS request to the server. Figure 4 shows the DNS server responding to the DNS query with the IP address for www dot cisco dot com Figure 5 shows the client now has the IP address to put in the layer 3 header as the destination IP for the HTTP request.
