Figure 1 shows the organizational chart for the Internet Society.  The Internet Architecture Board (IAB) is the only branch off of the Internet Society, and it has two branches, the Internet Engineering Task Force and the Internet Research Task Force. Figure 2 show a diagram that indicates that IANA is responsible for the assignment of IP addresses, domain names, and TCP and UDP port numbers.
