Alternative browsers work much the same as the pre-installed versions but may offer additional options such as private or “off-the-record” browsing. Many of the artifacts are the same and many of these alternative browsers are sufficiently supported by commercial tools.

In the event that they are not supported, look for the existence of:

•  Browser history

•  Private browsing

•  Saved pages

•  Cookies

•  AutoComplete data

•  Downloads

•  Image caches
