Before you begin this section about Window Functions, please be aware that you will not be able to run the code from this section in your Goorm environment.

Goorm uses MySQL 5.7 by default, which does not support Window Functions. MySQL 8.0 and newer will support Window Functions but upgrading to 8.x on Goorm is not an easy task.

If you would like to use Window Functions, then we recommend installing MySQL 8.x on your local machine (see Section 2 for installation instructions).
